Tom Yaxley started his own tax consulting
practice in June, 1987.
Formerly, Tom was a tax partner with
McGladrey
& Pullen, a national accounting firm. At McGladrey, he was head of
the Champaign, Illinois' office tax department and was the firm wide
bank tax specialist.
Tom is a graduate of the University of Illinois
with a Bachelor of science in Accountancy degree. He also holds a
Master of Science in Taxation from DePaul University in Chicago. He
obtained his CPA certificate in 1970.
Tom performs and directs tax and accounting
services for a variety of clients in the real estate, wholesale and
service industries. He works closely with attorneys, bank trust
officers and insurance agents in estate planning, as well as, estate
and trust administration, including preparation of estate tax returns
and fiduciary income tax returns. Other areas of expertise include:
- Business acquisitions, dispositions and liquidations
- Divorce and property settlements
- Executive compensation and fringe benefits
Tom is a member of the American Instititue of
Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society and the East
Central Illinois Estate Planning Council. He is a past president of
the Eastern Chapter of the Illinois CPA Society and a past member of
the Illinois CPA Society's Committee on Taxation. He has edited and
conducted courses on taxation for the Illinois CPA Society and the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
